Sport, including world sporting events, is analyzed as much as physical activity (PA), often without distinguishing at what level the latter is exercised. Links with Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are reported in the scientific literature, but not exclusively in relation to temperature rises. Moreover, it has been shown that impacts are not always negative, as PA can also influence climate change to some extent. Developing solutions for adaptation, and possibly mitigation too, is a complex task requiring a systematic, multi-disciplinary approach. With the latent risks of “greenwashing”, the definition of appropriate protocols based on scientific evidence and transparent public health governance are essential. |
